Crawling Craze!

Yesterday marks Azib's first crawl. He is happy now that he can explore each and every corner of the house. Since my phone is not functioning, thanks to Azib, I could not capture his first crawl. Mama's boy has finally crawled! Yay!!

Ok now. Bedtime!

Second attempt Nasi Lemak: Pass with flying colors!

Hey,

Have you had your lunch? Hehe.. As my title says, yes my nasi lemak is super-yummy! Weee..happy! So, I started cooking at 10 plus this morning while Azib was sleeping. Everything turned out very good. Alhamdulillah. So, the menu for today:

1. Nasi Lemak
2. Sambal Ikan Bilis
3. Kangkung rebus
4. Telur rebus
5. Air Longan ais

Almost a complete combo except for timun. Ehehe.. Nikman seems happy. Of course la, dapat makan sedap..yeah! My next mission is to cook nasi ayam and to bake a traditional baked cheesecake. For the weekend's menu; spaghetti bolognese and lasagne.

Ok, that's all. I will update soon!

Good day!

Weekends come and go!

Hello and good morning to everyone reading my blog.

It has been few weeks ago since I last updated. So much stuff to do and to look for. Hehe.. :)

Last Saturday, we went to Shell Family Day at Kelab Rekreasi Petroliam (KRP). It was fine until it rained. They did not put up any tents with seats in case it rains. So, parents with kids ushered off inside the lobby where the a/c turned low and it was all stuffy so we ended up sitting outside with the umbrella. I do not know anyone there and likewise hubby. Haha. Funny ;). It was his office family day but he does not know anyone there. 30 minutes after, we headed home. Azib was so tired, he slept in his stroller while waiting for the car.

Sunday, we went for groceries shopping at Bintang Plaza. We had sushi for lunch and since we have time, we went to SenQ to look at electrical appliances for our new home. The house that we have not purchase..the house that is still in our dream. For all the essential appliances, amount up to RM 10k. Wow, that is why we need to budget. That do not include furniture; bed, mattress, kitchen cabinet etc. There will be a lot of money going out of our bank accounts. Sigh. You can't always get what you want!

Azib has turned 9 months on Sunday. Time flies. In 3 months time, he will be 1 y.o. Wow! And he has broke my cellphone. Thank you Azib, now mama have an excuse to get new phone. :P

That is about it. Good day!

I do not know why..but I just felt sick

It is weird writing this entry because it has negative vibes in it. YES, negative. And it is about someone. Not that I am jealous but it is just her and her chirpy or cheery attitude. Sometimes, when you are in that kind of attitude, people may mistaken you as boasting or cakap besar. Don't you think so? This girl has such a big mouth and every little bit she announce it to the world. There was once, she said I am such a show off but look who's talking. *bengang je kan*

Guess I am done bitching.

Good day & SMILE.

First Attempt to cook Nasi Lemak

Hello,

I started my day by cooking nasi lemak and cook Azib's chicken porridge. First attempt cooking nasi lemak; FAIL. The taste and the smell is all there but I accidentally put in TOO much water. As a result, the rice is almost like Azib's porridge. Haha.. I know! I should have re-count once I have a doubt about the amount of water+coconut milk. Haih.. as the Malays say "nasi sudah menjadi bubur".

Azib has been such a good boy today. He woke up early and as usual he forced us to wake up too. Haha.

So that is all.

Good day!

Sushi King Halal?

Recently, my sister in law(SIL) email to me about something really important for every Muslims who loves eating Japanese food. So here goes the email between a fellow Muslim to Sushi King customer service;

"
Dear Mr. Abdul Rahman Omar,

Thank you for your enquiry.

Sushi King is not certified 'Halal'. This is due to some of our food contains 'Mirin'.

Mirin is derived from fermentation of rice and it is commonly used in Japanese cooking to enhance the taste of food.

Following are products that contains Mirin:
1. Unagi Kabayaki
2. Unagi Slice
3. Karei Nitsuke
4. Saba Misoni
5. Mamakari
6. Ikura

On top of that, some of our restaurants do sell beer

However, our meat materials such as chicken, beef and seafood are from Halal Certified source.

Hope this clarifies your concern.

Thank you.

Warmest Regards,

Dear Marilyn,

Another element of halal is on the use of alcohol in food preparation / cooking or the presence of alcohol in the ingredient use such as sauces etc.

Can you tell me whether Sushi King use alcohol or use materials
(such as sauces) that content alcohol?

Dear Mr. Abdul Rahman Omar

Thank you for your email. For your information, we are not a Halal restaurant as we do not have certification from JAKIM, but we only can claim us as Pork free. All our meat based products like chicken and beef are Halal Certified and we do not use any pork or pork derivatives in our restaurant.

Holiday craze!

Good morning readers,

First topic, American Idol top 8 result day. Hmm.. so far my favorites are still in the show. Somehow I felt sad seeing Alex Lambert leaving the idol. His voice is spectacular but I guess he is just plain ordinary. As for Lilly Scott, I was speechless because I silently thought Katie would leave the idol instead of Lilly. Well, life goes on. Haha.

Last night was just like every other nights. Not much tv shows to watch on tv. Oh, hubby planned for our next holiday trip to Johor Bahru (JB). I wanted to go to Resort World Sentosa but the 1-day pass is so expensive! For 1 adult, non peak season is SGD 66. It is about RM 157. It will be quite hard for us with infants to move around and explore everything in just 1 day (opening hours from 0900-1800). Darn it. Well, we still have ample time to plan for that. Let's just think about something else now.

There is a warehouse sale and it is ONLINE! The best ever! It is Levi's and Dockers warehouse sale, from 12-14 March 2010. See it yourself at www.melwani2u.com.my. It is a bargain for Levi's 501 for RM79.90 and that includes shipping. Isn't it sweet? Haha.

I was just scrolled down my facebook and my friend posted some photos from her recent trip to the city that owns the Big Ben..LONDON! It has been 2 years since we last visited London. I miss you, London. I do not know why but somehow when I am there I just feel at home. If only hubby or me could find a reason to live there, it would be so freaking nice. Haha.. I am such a wimp! Haih..

Saturday has finally slipped in and without even realizing the weekend is over. Uggghhh.. Today's activity, groceries shopping, dining out, and take a stroll in the mall. Oh yeah, the mall. The weather in Miri is so thick with haze! We have no choice but to stay indoor.

Ok Kimmy, enough with your rambling! Time to visit my restaurant city game. Bye.

Good day to all. SMILE.
